Yesterday I was in a zoom support group call and one of the participants opened up about homosexuality and some talk on conversion therapy happened. I just want to make a comment about that. I am not a fan of conversion therapy. Period. Have seen some on the Christian side. My idea of it changed when I watched this TED talk highlighted above.

In every society, there are a small percentage that are psychotic, anxious, depressed, bipolar and homosexual. It’s natural but every one has a stigma. I do believe that if a condition causes suffering, then it is our duty to find ways to alleviate it. I have homosexual friends. As far as I can see, their only suffering is the religious and social stigma. Homosexuality is created in the womb environment. Pumping a person with a high dose of testosterone is only going to make the person more aggressive and you have to restrain I believe. Coercion. I just wish we could let them live their lives in peace.

Stayed in Paris for awhile. Get very squeamish when I see two men kissing and cuddling in a gay bar. But that’s my problem, not theirs. I should be the one getting therapy. Sure, the group as a whole seems more promiscuous but maybe it’s because they are pushed outside normal society. Some homosexual couples I have read about and seen videos of seem to be very happy and well adjusted. So to me, I just think, let them be. That’s my thoughts on the subject.

If I had the means I'd form a rainbow clubhouse. I'm not gay but I do feel for these people.
