**Important Note:** _Psychedelics cause a disturbance in the brain. If you have the right mindset, it will be a beautiful experiance. If you don't, it can be super terrifying. The right mindset is knowing that it is a natural state of the brain, you are not going mad and you should just relax and enjoy the ride._

Not exactly my first experiance, I had tried to grow some cubensis before, and without any fruiting success, I ate a whole cake grown in a petri dish and did get some visual patterns in black and white. By sheer chance, I happened to be cycling in an oil palm estate, it had rained heavily the night before and I noticed some small gilled mushrooms growing from some bits of cowdung. Sheer luck. Timing was right as mentioned in the video above. Anyway, I didn't collect much but I did go back after a rainy spell and did find some. Not a whole lot but above 10grams and that from 10kms of cycling.

When I got back home, I decided not to waste the effort, washed the lot and downed it with some orange juice. Was actually pessimistic that anything would happen but a half hour later, did start to feel something. No visual patterns but when I closed my eyes, a fantastic show was going on in my mind. Not frightening, I was so calm and detached that I could just observe all the nonsense going on in my brain and actually become one with my breath. I was so fascinating to watch as an observer the fragmented show going on in my old tired brain. Such a **WOW** factor. All the time I imagine a soft whispering voice telling me to relax. All my aches and pains dissapeared, even that constant dull headache I always have was gone. Didn't last for long, after an hour I got up and enjoyed some ice-cream. A bit sad that the fascinating experiance was over. It was so unbelievably zen and that's with what is probably the lightest dose of mushrooms. It's a pity they were not more abundant and my pickings were little but I'm grateful for the experiance.

One can't expect to get great insights from just a mild trip but I think I did. Early in life, I slogged hard to build up some savings, buy a house etc, all the things a person is supposed to do. Now in old age, I feel that the old motivations don't make sense any more. My thinking is more in line with this lady [Drug trips, not broken hips: let later life be the age of irresponsibility](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/mar/31/drug-trips-not-broken-hips-let-later-life-be-age-of-irresponsibility). There is no chasing the dragon with psychedelics, you can't take it two days in a row, the second day it won't work. And no craving. And it has a side benefit. I suffer from migraine headaches with aura and if you read the cluster headache forums, you'd find the claim that mushrooms work to alleviate the problem for a time [Cluster Headache Magic Mushroom Medicine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mQSO4Tzbwk). As mentioned, on my 'trip' it was very noticable to me that my contstant nagging headache dissapeared.
